Velebit is not the highest but notably largest mountain range in Croatia. Its highest peak is the Vaganski vrh at 1757m. The range forms part of the Dinaric Alps and is located along the Adriatic coast, separating it from Lika.
The important characteristics of Velebit is its simple solid form made up of stiff cliffs and wood-covered slopes, also the contrast from the seaward side of the range that allows a magnificent overlooking of the ocean. The geological characteristic of the mountains is karst limestone where flora and fauna are abundant creating a stunning backdrop for any nature lovers adventure.
On request there can be an arranged dinner on a beautiful mountain ambience, and transfer to the start point of the tour from: Zadar, Biograd na moru, Šibenik, Split. We begin our hike onwards from Starigrad (old town) to Velebit mountain reaching the peak of Vagan (1757m) and the peak of St. Hill 91753m) in between which we will have time to bask in the wonders of the surrounding nature and have a picnic on one of the hillsides, the price includes a specialised guide.
