Excursion's informationsThe town of Dubrovnik is situated by the feet of the Srđ hill. This hill got its name because of the church dedicated to Saint Sergius, the patron saint of the town previously, before the time of Saint Blaise.
This hill was always the natural protection for the town, especially of north wind.
On the top of the hill the Napoleonian army started the construction of the Imperial fortress completed at the time of Austro-Hungarian Empire.
This fortress had one very important role in the region, the surveillance and defence.
At the time of war in 90s in Croatia, there was a base of Croatian army.
Now days there is a War museum dedicated to the war in Croatia in 90s.
