Excursion's informationsThe Historic Railroad Trail with steam locomotives passes from Mostar alongside Neretva river all the way across the border with Croatia, ending in Dubrovnik. The construction of this trail started in 1898 and ended in 1901.
Today this trail is reconstructed into a cycling track.
From Čapljina we follow the line of the Ciro railway route to Mogorjelo, then we separate our way to the Gabela and cross the border of the Republic of Croatia. The Neretva valley is tracking the present railway route until the mouth of the river in the Adriatic Sea. Bicycling on the right bank of the Neretva we pass through Krvavac and Komin and we reach Opuzen. In the Opuzen, we cross the left bank of the Neretva, and on the road through the olive groves and tangerine plantations we come to Usce.
