Velež mountain is named after the Slavic God Veles and rises above the eastern side of Mostar. Just 10km away from town, rests the mountainous area of Podveležje, where upon this tour you get to explore the Dinaric Alps and the plateau of Podveležje. Observing the stunning views of wild countryside whilst heading onwards the summit of the mountain makes you travel along ancient Illyrian paths and revisit civilizations to the untouched beauty of Herzegovina. Brasina is the peak of Velež, and is a perfect sightseeing spot overlooking Mostar.
Along this paved stretch of road, you can enjoy a stunning view of the town and to the south a view of the adriatic sea, witnessing the remains of two Austria Hungarian fortresses, Fortica and Merdzan Glava. At the peak of the mountain area, you can enjoy a magical view of the northern Mostar valley and the mountains of Prenj, Čvrsnica and Čabulje, onlooking towards Nevesinje valley as well.
