Excursion's informationsVelež mountain rises above the eastern side of Mostar. Brasina is the peak of Velež, and it is a nice sightseeing point, overlooking to Mostar.
Just 1o km far from Mostar, you can come to the mountain area of Podveležje. Along this paved stretch of road, you can enjoy in a beautiful and relaxing view toward the town and the hill and you can also see remains of two Austria Hungarian fortresses Fortica and Merdzan Glava.
The path starts at the village Šipovac, (850 meters a.s.l.) and leads up to the Brasina peak.
The first part of the itinerary goes up the western side of the mountain, walking alongside the old stone road built during the Austro- Hungarian domination in 19th century.
The road ends by the shelter at the bottom of the Brasina peak. At the peak of the mountain area, you can enjoy in a beautiful view of the northern Mostar valley and the mountains of Prenj, Čvrsnica and Čabulje, and towards Nevesinje valley as well.
