Through this tour we move from the 16th century Dubrovnik to the hinterland's open air reaching the town Trebinje. Situated on the banks of Trebišnjica river it is the southernmost city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city's old town quarter dates back to the 18th-century Ottoman period with architecture and culture to observe. We also witness the beauty of the karstic field located in the southernmost region named 'Popovo polje' where upon arrival is situated an old railway station turned restaurant that resides close to the Vjetrenica cave and an orthodox Monastery dating back to the 13th century.
The tour starts in Dubrovnik whereupon we visit the unique biodiverse cave, the museum Railroad Of Ciro then the Monastery depending on the goodwill of the monks. We then enjoy a lunch and tasting of speciality of Hercegovina. When we leave Zavala to reach Trebinje we will stop over for a short visit and walking tour. After visiting the city, we get the opportunity to delve into the local winery where we will try home-made wine and Herzegovinian platter. After visiting Trebinje we travel back to Dubrovnik. There is also an option upon request to start the tour from: Mostar, Medjugorje, Split or Makarska and drive back to the start point.
