The Bijambare area is famous for its caves and is located on the far north-eastern slopes of Ilijaš, a small town near Sarajevo the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The environment is most notable for it's thick conifer woods, meadows, two water flows with lakes and chasms, five caves, an all round natural oasis. It's rocky massif and high quality air provide ideal conditions for alpinism, speleology, skiing, mushroom picking, medicinal herb picking, or simply for nature excursions and visits. An additional attraction of the area is the ecological train. A ride in one direction is 2 km long and the train is moving at 20 km/h, in order to enable detailed sightseeing. The area is rich in karst phenomena such as sinks, sinkholes and caves which are the greatest attractions of the area. The largest and main cave Bijambare is available for tourist to visit in the period April through November. Its length is 420m, with 4 large halls having a diameter of up to 60m and a height of over 30m. The cave is also thriving with life inhabited by bat colonies and crickets. This tour offers the opportunity to visit this magnificent cave and witness nature in all it's untouched beauty.
