Hvar, the sunniest Croatian island is lying between the islands of Brač, Vis and Korčula. The island has typical Mediterranean vegetation. The hillsides are covered in pine forests, with vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields in the agricultural areas. The climate is characterized by warm summers with many hours of sunshine.
With its long and rich history this is one of the most interesting islands on the Croatian coast. Next to natural beauties, this island offers us one rich cultural Heritage, with remains of different Mediterranean civilisations like Greeks, Romans, Venetians...each one letting traces on the ground and in the island's history.
We start our hiking from Velo Grablje, in the island's centrum going to the south coast. Before arriving to the village of Milna by the sea, we will pass by Malo Grablje, an interesting abandoned village which gives us an excellent idea of the life long time ago. We can see the typical example of architecture of Dalmatian coast and islands with stone houses.
As we arrive in Milna, we continue by the small path by the sea. After our hiking tour of 3 to 4 hours, from Velo Grablje to Hvar, we arrive to Hvar, touristic centre of the island.
