Pelješac peninsula in southern Dalmatia in Croatia is part of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Inhabited since the ancient times of Illyrian tribes, Greeks and Romans, it is known not only by its vineyards and quality wines, but also by its centuries long tradition of navigation. This tour bring you to the beautiful hinterlands and visit sights of ancient villages Ston and Mali Ston with an included boat excursion over the wonderful seas.
The route we take of the Napoleon Road on Pelješac extends from Ston and passes trough village Gornje Selo and Ponikve. It was constructed by the French army with participation of the local inhabitants and continued so under Austrian rule.
The Napoleon Road on Pelješac passes in direct proximity to known localities, all possessing exceptional historical significance dating from the pre-historic period to the 19th century. In the region around Ston, there are a number of important early sacred monuments as the Early Christian churches or later medieval churches as well as surrounding blissful nature which makes an unforgettable active experience.
