Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a heart shaped country in Southeast Europe, located in the Western Balkans, side to side with Croatia in the north, north-west and south and with Serbia and Montenegro in the east.

It covers an area of 50,000 km². Bosnia covers northern and central part of the state, and the name comes from the word "bosana" - water - which certainly does not lack here.
The southern part of the state, Herzegovina was named after the Herceg Stjepan, who ruled long time ago.

The most important thing for visitors of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an extraordinary beauty, diverse landscapes, cultures, traditions and people. Residents are proud of their unique and recognizable hospitality to the guests. There are many fascinating destinations for everyone's choice. Tremendous combination of cultural - historical and natural destinations are main characteristics of this small country. Be sure to visit Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Bihać, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Brčko, Bijeljina, Zenica and Međugorje.
Cities are connected by highways and main roads, with regular bus lines to the rest of the Europe.
The train also runs according to the timetable.
The International Airport Sarajevo is 20 minutes drive from the center of Sarajevo.
Airports Mostar and Tuzla are now hosts of low-cost carriers

Bosnia and Herzegovina is abundant in water supply through many springs and well known rivers: Neretva, Bosnia, Vrbas, Drina, Sava, Una, Sana, Trebišnjica, Spreča
. For summer adventure hedonists, there is rafting on Neretva, Una, Rakitnica, Vrbas, Drina and Tara, Krivaja and Trebižat, as well as kayaking, canyon hiking, mountain biking, jeep rides, rock climbing, hiking, skydiving, horseback riding and many other things.
Natural lakes are perls of our country. Preserved in its essence, lakes are frequently visited during the year (Boračko, Rama, Bilećko, Brezinski, Modrac, Peručko, Jablanica, Buško).
True ecotourism paradise is explored in new and growing ethno villages. Bosnia has one true indigenous village called Lukomir, where traditional life in stone homes still keeps its pace 1.500m above the city.
Active winter holiday seekers should visit Bosnian mountains for adrenalin activities (skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing) or relax on the fresh air. Special part has our Olympic beauty Bjelašnica being an inevitable place for visitors along with Igman, Jahorina, Vlašić, SRC Rostovo, Kupres and Blidinje.
Mineral and thermal water is well known for its healing effects on a body and soul. This is located in several domestic spa centers throughout the country: Reumal Fojnica, Aquaterm Olovo, Terme Ilidža Sarajevo, Banja Guber Srebrenica, Banja Vrućica Teslić, UniBristol Tuzla, Banja Dvorovi Bijeljina.

On such a small area there is a large number of protected natural categories:

Bosnia and Herzegovina is almost landlocked, except for 20 kilometres (12 miles) of coastline on the Adriatic Sea surrounding the city of Neum. Neum is a completely sold out Bosnian tourism destination during the summer time.
There are various types of accommodation, from hotels, hostels and villas, as well as accommodation in mountain homes, recreational camp centers with individual or grup programes.
Capital city Sarajevo offers a constantly present events during the year, such as Sarajevo Film Festival (August) Mess (October), Sarajevo Winter (February / March), Fashion Week Sarajevo (November), Kid's Festival (June), Baščaršijske noći (July), Annual Meeting of Writers (September), Theatre Fest (September), Jazz Fest (November). Mostar, the glory of Herzegovina, is flourishing in the summer by many tourists who enjoy watching famous jumps from the Old Bridge (UNESCO). Numerous indigenous restaurants as well as international cuisine restaurants, pastry shops, bars and pubs, are some of the things you may see or taste during your visit.
It is time to come and taste a combination of East and West. You will love it.
