Day 2. National Park Krka and Šibenik
Krka National Park The Krka National Park is located on the Krka River. It is known for a series of 7 waterfalls. On the south of the park is the most famous waterfall, Skradinski Buk surrounded by traditional watermills. To the north, the nature trail passes near another natural cascade, the Roški Waterfall, and nearby is also the Krka Monastery, built above the ancient Roman catacombs. Lunch: typical restaurant Šibenik town Šibenik is famous for its cultural and historical sights and natural beauties. Most famous are two monuments protected by UNESCO, the Cathedral of St. James and the fortress of St. Nikola and the two national parks near the town, Krka and Kornati. Zadar town The old town, surrounded by walls and medieval towers, connected by a bridge, a symbol of the city. The chief interest of Zadar lies in its churches. Split town Built around the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. By walking through the ancient town, you can experience the history, discovering examples of ancient architecture such as the Peristil, the medieval Romanesque church and the Gothic Palace, Renaissance portals of aristocratic houses, Baroque facades, all to the modern architecture incorporated into the rich heritage. Free time for lunch Trogir town Trogir is located in Kastela Bay, it is known for the Old Town, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Trogir is surrounded by medieval walls, and we will discover its castles, towers, palaces and many other remains of Roman, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture.
