Day 2. Boka Bay, Montenegro
Our Lady of the Rocks Transfer by boat: We will take you to an island in the middle of the bay, with the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. This island was made by local sailors in the 15th century, who wanted to build a church in honour of the Virgin Mary. Visit: the church and its small museum The medieval town of Perast The oldest town of all towns in the Bay of Kotor and also has the most beautiful Baroque buildings in the region. Lunch: Monastery of St. Anthony Kotor town Founded during the Roman empire, the town was part of the Venice in the Middle Ages, and this Venetian influence is visible in its architecture. The town is surrounded by an impressive medieval wall that rises to the fortress of St. John. As we enter the old town, we will see the Tower, several palaces, the Cathedral of St. Trifon and the Orthodox Churches of St. Luke and St. Nicholas. Day 3. Cetinje, the old capital of Montenegro
Cetinje town Cetinje is a historical Royal Capital of Montenegro. The town is located on a small karst plain surrounded by limestone mountains, including Mt. Lovćen, the Black Mountain from which Montenegro gets its name. We will see old buildings and palaces which are today museums, libraries and art galleries today. Lunch: local cuisine Mausoleum of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš Lovćen is a mountain and national park in southwestern Montenegro. Mountain rises from the sea closing the bays of Boka Kotorska. Besides natural beauties, the national park was established to protect the rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage of the area. We will visit the mausoleum of Peter II Petrović, the national poet and founder of Montenegro. He is buried in a sarcophagus with view on the Kotor Bay. Budva town Because of sandy beaches in and around Budva, as well as its vast cultural heritage and architecture, the city is turning into the most attractive tourist destination in Montenegro.
