Velebit is the longest mountain range in Croatia. Its highest peak is the Vaganski vrh at 1.757m. The range forms part of the Dinaric Alps and is located along the Adriatic coast, separating it from Lika. The important characteristic of Velebit is its simple solid form and stiff towering cliffs, accompanied with a contrasting nakedness of the seaward side and wood-covered slopes.The geological characteristic of the mountains is karst where flora and fauna are abundant, offering a dynamic and intriguing hiking experience with fascinating nature to explore.
