The island of Dugi otok is 45km long it is an island of very inaccessible coastline and high cliffs on one side as well as the nice beaches and coves on the other. The south eastern part of the island is proclaimed the Natural Park.
On the north-east of Dugi, resides Sali the biggest settlement on the island, known for a long fishing tradition, as well as for its cultural and historical heritage, the architecture of gothic, renaissance and baroque.
From the settlement of Sali we hike towards the bay of Magrovica, then to the Nature Park Telašćica and the salt Lake Mir (Peace). The lake contains healing mud and is a habitat of a endemic species of eel called "caiman". Because of its healing power, this Lake is a favourite destination for bathers.
The Nature Park is located in the south-eastern part of Dugi otok and with the surrounding waters, 13 islands and islets, makes a marvellous harmony of nature. The park is also a refuge for the island donkeys, which freely roam the area of the bay Mir.
