Shell farming & Pelješki vineyards: Cycle and discover our natural heritage
Meeting point & Transfer: Dubrovnik
Start point: Ston, Pelješac Peninsula
The tour begins with a short visit to Ston, which is located on the southern part of the peninsula. This is followed by a short transfer to the small town of Doli, where we will begin our active part of the trip. Riding a bike to Ston and visiting the village and the salt pan is the first part of the trip. This is followed by a tasting of famous oysters from Mali Ston. The trip ends in a typical fishing village where we will have a local cuisine lunch.
The second route starts in the town of Zuljane, surrounded by beautiful beaches, while we continue driving through picturesque landscapes towards Trsteni, where we will then ride the cycling wine route Dingac, one of the most valued wines in Croatia.
Ston
Ston is a village located near the city of Dubrovnik, known for its culture of oyster farming, old architecture and beautiful surrounding villages, valleys and the sea. The historic town of Ston is located on the southern part of the Pelješac peninsula, known for its city walls, salt pan and local gastronomy.
By boat: Oyster farms
The area of Ston has been known for the cultivation of oysters and mussels since Roman times, and the Ston oyster (ostrea edulis) spread the fame of this region as a confirmed natural aphrodisiac.
