Korčula island, south shore
Start point: Žrnovo, Korčula

Walk and discover our heritage:
Korčula is one of the largest and most wooded islands of Croatia. 65% of the island is covered by dense Mediterranean vegetation of pine forest flourishing with aromatic and medicinal plants, without forgetting the many varieties of flowers. Main activities of the local people are sea fishing, shipbuilding, stone cutting, viticulture, olive and citrus cultivation along with fig and almond trees. Next to natural beauties, this island offers rich cultural Heritage, with remains of different Mediterranean civilizations each time period leaving traces on the ground of the island history. Streets and alleys, monasteries, palaces and houses, built by hand with local stone, creates a vast mosaic displaying different times and cultures.

We start our walk fom Zrnovo, in the island centrum following the age-old path used by people and villagers, going towards the South Coast hills. We go trough vineyards and olive groves as we make our way to the strands of Bratinja luka and Orlanduša, located on the island South Coast. Of course, there will be time set aside for swimming in the Adriatic sea. Lastly we stroll trough the dense Mediterranean vegetation, on the way to the hamlet of Postrana, where we finish our full day walking.
