Hike and discover our natural heritage:
Čabulja is a mountain in Herzegovina between the Neretva River and its right tributary stream Drežanke. Čabulja is mostly bare, rocky and arid, with little fertile land nested in the narrow valleys of southwestern podgorine, where lie situated a few, scattered villages. The natural landscape provides stunning views of open plains and rugged mountains, any nature lover can get absorbed by the beauty. The highest peak is called Velika Vlajna of 1776m. At the base of Čabulje is plateau Bile. On the plateau many animals are found and now roam about 150 horses arranged in several herds. In the past, horses were used by local people for cultivation, but over time the horses were replaced with modern machines. Now they are free to live wildly in this natural area with untouched beauty.
The hiking trail starts in village Bogodol 20 km from Mostar. There is a mountain lodge with a capacity of 20 people in which it is possible to spend the night with a reservation. The trail begins with a gentle climb to 1430m where lies an artificial pool "Gonđuša". There begins a steeper climb, firstly through a beech wood forest and then to rocks with low vegetation. From the top is a magnificent view of the river canyon Drežanka with a depth of 1500m.
