Wild horses, Livno

Walk and discover our heritage:
Wild horses are what mark the vast expanses of the intact nature of Livno fields residing 10km away from the town of Livno, a group of about 200 wild animals, live in the rough nature who gallop far and wide in search for grass, salt and water. They have been roaming for almost 50 years under the open skies. Livno, is a traditional and interesting town, not so far over the Bosnian border, surrounded by fascinating scenery. As history goes, small farmers in the last century (1970) were heading from the countryside to the cities to find jobs, many gave their horses back to nature, where they surprisingly well survived the harsh climate of hot summers and freezing winters.

Recently the town of Livno started a protection program, for these noble animals enriching the impressive plains and mountains around Livno, making it an excellent tourist attraction.The tour starts with a transfer to Borova Glava and a walk across the mountain plateau to the wild horses then a walk back to the original meeting point in Livno.
