An influential New York-based Travel Leisure magazine on Easter published an article recommending that Americans visit European destinations. Among the nine best cities is Split.



The author Patricia Doherty singles out a pleasant climate, and especially emphasizes Diocletian's Palace as a UNESCO heritage. In a short review, she states that due to restaurants, bars, cultural and entertainment venues and the fact that the people of Split speak English, it is easy to adapt in the city under Marjan hill.
