According to system eVisitor information, Split is on the top of Croatia by the growth of tourism in first six months. This is a record year for Split, witness the recent and biggest Ultra, and the fact that 10 new hotels opened this year, which is the biggest number of new Split hotels in this decade.
RECORD JULY - 6% MORE ARRIVALS AND OVERNIGHTS STAY
In the first 15 days of July, there were 88,466 arrivals and 280,662 overnights stay, an increase of 6% in arrivals and 6% in overnights stay compared to the first 15 days of the last year July. The overall results of July's tourist traffic will be officially announced in early August.
FIRST SIX MONTHS IN PLUS BY 12%
In the first six months of the year, in the area of Split Tourist Board, there were 327,865 arrivals (12% more than in the same period of 2018) and 853,646 overnight stays (15% more compared to the same period of 2018), which is in line with the strategic goals of increasing tourist traffic in the pre-season. Overnight stays in the first 6 months increased by 7%.
TEN NEW HIGH-CATEGORY HOTELS
The city of Split has entered this tourist season with a total of 45 open hotels, with this year opening up to 7 new smaller and larger hotel facilities, which is the biggest number of newly opened hotels in one year in Split this decade!

That’s how Split enriched its own accommodation offer whith the new hotels "Briig", "Time", "Villa Nepos" integral hotel in the historical core, "Boban Luxury Suites", boutique hotel "Time", Hotel "Pax".
Four hotels that opened at the end of last year must be added to this list, so this is practically the first year of work - Hotel Cvita, Villa Hotel Split, hotel Agava and aparthotel Posh.

Split's offer of accommodation in new hotels with 4 and 5 stars increased to 10 hotels, just in this year!

By placing them on the market, hotel capacities have increased by 10 percent, and what is the desirability for this type of accommodation best describes the fact that they are almost 100 percent full! Split's guests now have 3,641 beds in hotels, or 320 hotel beds more than last year, which have long been reserved, and the final works should be completed this year or next year with several new hotel facilities that would have about 1,200 beds in hotels with four and five stars.


By the end of 2020, the first guests will receive Marriott International with the Courtyard by Marriott brand that will open the "Dalmatia Tower" with 190 rooms and four suites. "Amphora Resort" on Žnjan platou with a total of 207 rooms, a congress hall, a series of catering contents, three swimming pools and luxurious wellness is almost ready for work, while the latest works are also being performed at the hotel "Ambassador" in Split Matejuška, which will have 101 rooms and apartment, 240 seats in the restaurant, spa, gym, nightclub and underground garage with 59 seats and the Villa Harmony hotel with about 55 beds. More intense trend of investments in the hotels of the highest category in Split in recent years with listed facilities will soon round up Split's hotel offer to around 5,000 beds.

At the same time, accommodation capacities in Split's family accommodation this year grew at the lowest rate in the past five years and their capacities are 5 percent higher than last year. After many years of double-digit growth in the number of beds in households (which was 23 percent in 2017), this year, 5 percent more beds were placed on the market, or 1,271 new beds in private houses, apartments and rooms in Split, mostly in the highest category .


Investments in raising the quality of accommodation in households are also evident in the fact that in the four-star category in Split households there are now about 4,000 beds. Otherwise, in Split, this year, a total of 24,614 beds in a family accommodation were placed on the market.

Split has 34,374 beds in all accommodation facilities.
ULTRA FESTIVAL
According to eVisitor data, in the week of the Ultra Festival, there were 49,591 arrivals and 166,542 overnight stays in the Split area. If we compare this data with the results of tourist travel in the Ultra Festival week last year, it is a 10% increase in arrivals and 12% in the overnight stays. When we talk about the availability of all accommodation capacities, it is 60%, which is 4% more than the Ultra Festival week last year, and the highest occupancy was recorded in high category facilities (4 and 5 stars).
